Dear All,
Chocolate Vanilla Marble Cake
Recipe Adapted from :- BBCGoodFood
Recipe Serves 8 to 10
Ingredients:-
1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
1/4 cup of drinking chocolate
1 tbsp of coco powder
1 tsp coffee
1 1/2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
3/4 cup unsalted white butter
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp vanilla
2 to 3 tbsp milk
Procedure:-
Lots of Love,
I have always been a big fan of marble cakes! The chocolate swirls wrapped around delicious vanilla makes the cake even more exotic! Though by looking at the photo it may seem tough to get perfect that marbling effect but its very much simple! Marble cake is nothing but plain vanilla pound cake divided into half and mixed the other half with either rich coco powder or melted bitter sweet chocolate. Once you have spooned the batter into a bundt pan run a knife along the batter to get those perfect swirls. So easy!

Ingredients:-
1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
1/4 cup of drinking chocolate
1 tbsp of coco powder
1 tsp coffee
1 1/2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
3/4 cup unsalted white butter
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp vanilla
2 to 3 tbsp milk
Procedure:-
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C, grease and flour a bundt pan.
- Sieve flour, baking powder and baking soda together and keep aside
- Beat sugar and butter for about 2 to 3 mins until creamy and well blended
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition.
- Now add in vanilla essence and mix well.
- Gently fold in the flour in the batter, if required add a tbsp of milk.
- Now divide the batter in two bowls.
- Stir in coco powder, drinking chocolate and coffee in one of the bowls and mix well. If the batter is too thick add a tbsp of milk
- Now spoon the batter alternatively in the bundt pan.
- When all the batter is used up, take a knife and run along the mixture in the tin few times to get the marbling effect.
- Bake the cake for 45 to 50 mins, until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
- Once the cake is cooled completely slice the cake and serve with a cold glass of milk!
Verdict:- I was extremely happy with the texture of the cake! Addition of drinking chocolate and coffee did enhance the chocolate flavor to a great extent! You can even add in your choice of nuts..roasted almonds and walnuts would go perfectly with this cake. It is a perfect tea time cake and I am sure your family will love it!
Do give it a try and let me know.
